Reading through histamine forums, I often see that many chronic or prolonged symptoms described are frequently NOT caused by histamine intolerance! A DETAILED examination is always necessary before arriving at a diagnosis of histamine intolerance by exclusion.
Reactions caused by histamine intolerance appear almost immediately, but definitely within a few hours, except for some symptoms (e.g., inflammatory skin symptoms or acid reflux complaints). Most reactions occur within minutes after eating and resolve within hours!
Histamine intolerance, however, is NOT AN ALLERGY!
